good kit for first engine build
I am a 15 year old kid with an 1983 camaro with a 305 small block and i was thinking of possibly trying to build an engine just for fun and possibly swap it for my 305 is there any kits online that would come with everything i need and good instructions. I moslty want to do this to learn since i dont know much about cars

If the car currently has a running 305 in it, then you'll want to keep driving it that way while you build something better. Try to find a 350 from '87 or newer. But you don't want the heads. Unless it's a '96 or newer Vortec 350. Then you need a 5/8" socket, an extension and a breaker bar, and pull the heads to look for cracks between the center 2 combustion chambers. The 350 without heads should be around $100-150, and with uncracked Vortec heads, should be right around $450-500. Get the 350, disassemble it, and then you'll have more questions to ask us, and more of the info we will need to give you good answers.

thanks for the info, i talked to my dad who would be my teacher and all and he is thinking that we could build an engine for his 64 plymoth valiant since he might have broken his engine. He thinks that he doesnt want a big engine, maybe a 243
