Second time turns heads for me and a mustang owner
Ok so we were heading back from the mountains down the highway, both in my camaro. We decided to floor it to see what it would do. 60,70,80,90,100,110, then kept going after hitting the peg on my gauge pod. Me and him both kind of scratched our heads the first time. Then I asked another owner and he said I was lieng because of the speed limiter. So today me and him drove again Same place same speed and then i kept going, for some reason the car would not kick off. Even when the mustangs speed limiter did. Im almost 100% sure it doesnt have a chip or the wires cut. But it does it. More than once. Has anyone had this happen?
Side note now that i put a 160 thermo and a k&n air filter and the coolant additive it doesn't run hot, anymore.

There is a speed limiter in these cars. It comes out of the factory set at 255mph.

255? is that a typo or were you being funny?
or - is it what you intended to type and you were not trying to be funny?

That's what my 91 and 88 were both set at in the prom.
Not a typo.
It's not like the car is going to get that fast anyway.

Yep, 255 mph for my car as well. And the Rev Limiter was set to almost 10,000 rpm, but I've set that to about 5800 now.

That sounds like a great challenge! Lingenfelter and Callaway got that 'vette to 254 mph, way back when (1987?) It seems easier now that World and Dart are making blocks, AFR has made improvements to their heads, et cetera. Who wants this to happen?
