Please help with part locations

Hi,

OK, I have a 1991 Z28 that originally had a 305 TPI. I have taken the whole car apart, and unfortunately it's been taking me a lot longer than expected to get things back together.

I have sitting in my parts pile to go back on the car, (2) black braces. The braces look very similar to the one that braces the alternator to the exhaust manifold, but they are a little bigger in diameter.

(1) of the braces is about 6" long, and has NO bends in it, the bolt holes at each end of the brace are lined up and in the same direction.

The other brace has a 45-60 degree bend in it, and is closer to 12" long. One of the bolt holes is actually a slot, the other bolt hole is pointing in a perpendicular direction.

I have been flipping through my GM manual for days now, and can't find either brace in the book. The weird thing is, my GM book shows a brace mounting the power steering pump to the same stud on the exhaust manafold as the alternator, and the book also shows a brace from the AC compressor to the 3rd bolt back on the pass. exhaust manifold, and a brace from the bottom corner of the pass. accessory bracket to the front stud of the pass. exhaust manifold. The only brace I have dug up so far (other than these mystery braces) is the alternator brace.

The longer of the two braces may work for one of these, but it seems like it is different from the manual. The shorter brace, I can not even imagine it connecting anything.

I do not know for sure if these braces even belong to the accessory rack at all. If they do, they are definately configured differently than GM drew up in their shop manual...

If anyone can shed some light, it would be appreciated. Any photos of your accessory bracing (both sides please) would also be a great help.

I'll try to get photos of the braces up tomorrow.

Thanks
