Temporary coil failure???
I am really scratching my head here. Ive got a 1988 IROC 5.7 which runs flawlessly....However, once or twice a week the car wont start (just turns over). To fix it all I ever do is swap out another coil I have and the car fires right up!! Im getting sick and tired of having to do this 2-3 times a month and was hoping someone maybe has seen this before and has a solution.
It usually only happens after the car has sat in the garage untouches for a few days--not when the engine is warm.

Re: Temporary coil failure???
Figured it out! One of my dist cap screws was very loose and I think during a coil swap I would end up putting some pressure on the cap which gave me ignition. Ive tightened up the screws on the cap and am betting my problems are over.
