spark issue
spark issue
i just bought a brand new coil and installed it. but now, i still have no spark. the issue was id be driving and my car would die, itd be cruising, the rpms would just drop to zero and itd be dead. im getting fuel, pumps good, filters good. i dont know whats wrong. but im not getting spark, so if anuyone can help me out, id appreciate it thanks

control module in the distributor is probably bad. I think they're $30 at autozone.

the coil takes its cue from the ECM, the ECM takes ITS cue from the module in the distributor, if any one part in the chain fails, no spark. The modules are notorious for failing after being in the car for 20+ years........ Pull the little feller out, take it up to the parts store, and have it tested..... When it fails, buy a new one. Get a GOOD name brand module, and you won't have this problem again for another 20 years. (provided you follow the installation directions, use the thermal grease, etc.....)
