Map sensor problems

I just replaced my 305 engine with a 350 tbi. When putting it back together I started having a problem with my map sensor. When the vacuum line is disconnected from the sensor the car runs and when I connect it the car shuts off. I tried a new one and it still does the same thing. Do I have a bad connector or is one of the wires going to it damaged or something?

Re: Map sensor problems

i have heard that a 350 MAP is different from a 305 MAP, but not sure if it's true and if so, why. if it's the vac line you are disconnecting, check to make sure the line isn't collapsed or plugged up, as well as the port it is hooked to.
