1.5's to 1.6's. Different Pushrod???
1.5's to 1.6's. Different Pushrod???
I'm currently running 1.5 full RR's on my motor and I'm considering going to 1.6 full rollers to gain a little more lift from the cam. Does the rocker ratio change affect the geometry to where you would need a longer or shorter pushrod? I've got the geometry dead on right now with the 1.5's and I'm just wondering if the 1.6's will possibly require buying different length pushrods. Thanks for any advice.

No. If you're running the correct pushrod length now, going with 1.6s shouldn't effect that. I say "shouldn't" because if you go with a different make rockers there "may" be a difference.
Best advice would be to check; that's what I'd do.

Re: 1.5's to 1.6's. Different Pushrod???
Thanks for the input Jake! I'm running the knockoff version of the Comp Cams Pro-Mags that Skip White Performance sells on Ebay, and I'll probably buy another set from them in the 1.6 ratio. I was a little leery about using them initially, but they've actually worked out quite well while being less than half the cost of the ones that Comp Cams sell. I'm running Comp's XE-502 hyd. roller in a 10.2:1, 355 with the Super Ram and AFR aluminum 190's. It runs quite strong, but I'm thinking the heads and intake I'm running would appreciate a bit more valve lift. The rockers are the only area I scrimped on a bit costwise. I used ARP head bolts, ARP rocker studs, Comp's 986 springs, Comp Magnum pushrods, and Manley viton seals. I checked the pushrod geometry using a sharpie magic marker of the top of the valves, and the pattern was a fairly thin line in the center of the valve stem tip, so it should be pretty close to optimal. I've never ran 1.6's before, so I wasn't sure if it would change the geometry or not. I've seen lots of threads on here about how to check pushrod length, but I can't ever recall a post that says anything about needing to change pushrod length when upgrading to 1.6's, so I figured I'd better ask!
