Heads for a Strocker

I am in the process of trying to buy a 383 strocker to put in a 1986 Iroc. The only thing is the heads are bad on the motor, and i was to ld that heads of a 1992 Z28 305 TPI motor would work on the strocker motor. Is this correct, and if not can anyone give me advise on some other ones that could work or would be best? Thanks for all the help i appreciate it.

Re: Heads for a Strocker

I think this is the wrong place to be asking this, but the 305 heads would not be good on a stroker motor. They don't flow that great. My advise is a vortec head if you want a good flowing stock head, or some aftermarket heads

Re: Heads for a Strocker

Using 305 heads is possible but then you would have a high compression and would need to use premium fuel and octane booster to run the car. The average 305 heads are around 58cc. Some vortec heads are 64cc so you would be running around a 9.1 compression and would be able to use pump gas. basically 35-40 hp extra when using Vortec heads
