Re: cam and heads
Its not just the cam and heads that will make a difference in your motor, its a combination of all things what work well in sync to create optimal power and torque. What exactly are you after is another question? Wild or mild? Another good place to get information would be a local engine shop/speed shop or something of that sort. Talk to people who deal with it everyday, they will be more than happy to lead you in the direction you wanna go. Another thing you could do would be to call camshaft mfgs. and tell them what your looking for, they will recommend a cam specifically for your application and if they dont make a standard grind for what your looking for, im sure they would be more than happy to make a custom grind cam. Same for heads, unless your going to get wild, typically a set of 1.94 or 2.02 (intake) size valves should do the trick for most any mild engine. And dont get me wrong either, you can probly squeeze around 450 HP and then some out of a set of 2.02 heads with some work. But this will also require other goodies to help get to that number. With the technology of today, anything is possible and the sky is the limit..
