Car stalls after getting hot or going up a hill - 350 carb

Hi

I have an '85 Camaro with a slightly modified 350 in it. some cam, aluminium heads, 750 cfm edelbrock. built it last winter, and ran fine the first year.

though now it has developed a problem. when driving in hot weather it will stall after about 15 minutes of driving, usually just after going up a hill.

First i notice a lack of power, then it flicks between running normally and without power for a few seconds before coming to a stop. After this i can start it again using the accelerator pump, but just for a few seconds. after that it is dead.

There is no underpressure in the tank. the ignition module has been replaced for good measure. it seems the car gets no fuel. filters are not clogged. After running it on the acc pump, there no longer squirts fuel into the carb when i work the throttle.

after about 15 minutes of fiddling about the car starts and runs fine again.
This has happened 4-5 times now, and the behavior is the same.

fuel pump is of this type: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-EDL21/, and does not have a return. is it possible i'm getting vapor lock? the routing of the hoses has not changed, and i'm kinda stumped as to why the problem did not occur earlier.

I am considering mounting the old stock pump back for testing, og going straight for an electric one.

Any insights into what may cause this?

Thanks for your time,

Timing is currently set at 32 degrees, 2500RPM, no vacuum.

I kinda doubt it is the timing as the carb runs out of fuel, if i empty the bowls through the acc. pump, and crank it over while trying to start, the fuel bowls are still empty afterwards.

Next time this happens i think i'm gonna have a fuel can available, and try connecting the hose in the engine compartement to that, and see if that changes anything.
