skeptical engine performance
skeptical engine performance
Hey fellas I have an 89 trans am 5.7 tpi and I noticed when reving my engine it sounds good and revs ok to about 3k-3.5k rpms.....pass that feels restricted somehow...from my experience if you step on the pedal it should respond and free flowing revs...on the freeway if I step on it hard it will kickdown rpm hits 4k but quickly drops to 3k and its a strugglr to get past 3k again without the feeling of unstability.. what could it be?

First thing to check is the fuel filter if you haven't changed in awhile. See if it helps. Then check the timing, then plugs, then coil etc.
