Ok so when I bought my car the snorkel air assembly was off. The guy gave it to me but it has no top. I figured I would just put an aftermatket on there and be fine but I'm hearing people say I'll have bad air flow. So should I just by a top (btw will the little chrom ones they sell fit?) Or buy an aftermarket? If I buy an aftermarket how do I make sure I will have enough air flow? I'm low on cash so no 150-200 setups for me lol. Anyone have any suggestions?

Have you checked local craigslist ads, or any junkyards? I don't imagine it'd be too hard to find another carbed 305 with a snorkel setup. Stock would be better than nothing I suppose.

Third gens are kind of uncommon around my area, and I've still seen a few good parts cars around, which is even more uncommon. Some of the rednecks in Delaware consider parts cars to be a good daily driver, but that's another story for another thread.

.......But there is a guy across the street from me who drives a 90's Chevy 1500 that's about 4 or 5 different colors.

 

Yeah that's the problem, no ones parting them out. I've checked a few junkyards and no luck :'( I did find a seat lol. I put a post up in parts wanted on here but nothing yet.

 

You could always hit someone up for a loan and get one of them fancy $400 dual snorkel setups off of ebay.

Not sure if this is exactly what you have, but it's an air cleaner from third gen ranch that's only 12 dollars.

Yes, and if you have some IROC wheels laying around with decent tires on them, you can have $400 in exchange. I want a spare set since mine aren't holding air.
