Holley Headers

So I just got my first Camaro(92 Rs 305 carburated) and I want to modify it to make it run faster, people have been telling me that the first thing to change would be the entire heads and cam, I have recently been told that I should change the headers for now since I am on a budget from buying the car, he told me I should get Holley Headers, can you guys help me decide If I should go along with it or justgive me some more advice on anything my car could use.

Re: Holley Headers

The first thing I recommend is a plan and then lay out a budget to meet that plan. There are so many things and parts you can do, but you'll be running in circles without a plan. I would make a list of what I have and what I need. Also, note things along the way that might be priority over others, that should help you start down the right path.

Re: Holley Headers

I wouldn't worry about the heads yet. I would get a set of shorty headers and ypipe, along with the rest of the exhaust. That will make a big difference, and can even be carried over if you decide to put a 350 in your car.

Re: Holley Headers

Thanks for the advice, and yea I definitely need a plan to balance my budget, and I already bought an 89 Iroc with a 350 on it so switching engines isn't much of a priority, and thanks for suggesting the shorty headers, I'm looking into them right now and they seem like a pretty good investment

Re: Holley Headers

We all want fast, but first the car needs to be capable of coping with more power. The first mods should always be better brakes and subframe connectors. Once those are done, then the exhaust system is a great next step.
