HELP!!!!! DESPERATE 91 Z-28 SMOG ISSUES
my name is john i am from las vegas i have finally made my dream come true and purchased a 1991 z-28 camaro the lady i bought it from said her husband was restoring it and he died so i purchased it with 128k miles clean as can be body and paint and interior but it runs bad first off it did not have a thermostat in it when i bought it and i started there cause it was overheating and throwing check engine lights i flushed the radiator put in a stock thermostat and she still runs hot sometimes but that is only the start i had 5 dtc's 22 32 33 34 44 i had a mechan ic look at it diagnose it he sad it was a ground problem iac and o2 sensor after tht repair car ran really well and i went to smog it and it failed miserably so i called the guys back to relook at their work they said i had clogged intake runners from carbon and a bad egr i would not let them do the repair as they wanted 300 parts and labor so i took it to my chevy dealer and a ase l1 master tech for diagnosis he said o2 voltage was 900 mv unplugged or plugged and i needed a new ecm so i bought 2 ecms and 2 proms one for a 305 and 1 for a 350 because the lady i bought the car from said her husband had a 350 crate motor block put in so with either ecm and either prom and the car woke up and ran better than ever before but now when it sits and i go to start it cold it has a long crank and when it finally starts it sputters and pops till it smooths out and smoke comes out of the tail pipe is a dark color then it will be fine and if i shut it off and start it again it fires right up unless it sits then back to the long crank and smoke puffs on start up only it has new fuel injectors new vavums lines ac delco plugs ngk wires new cap rotor and a new converter any one that wants to help please do so 702 461 7684 im john i might have forgot somethings so just ask

sounds like timing but if its carbd then it probably need tuning or a rebuild of the carb that is.

run some seafoam through the car if you're worried about carbon build up. If you feel like checking your timing you need to unplug the single tan wire on the passenger side, 6-8 degrees is factory but I'm running mine at 14 BTDC
