Car: 86 trans am gta,and 88 corvette
Engine: TA-355ci tpi,vette 383 tpi
Transmission: 5spd manual,700r4
Axle/Gears: borgwarner 370 posi,vette is stock
high idle on 5.7tpi,need advice

high idle on 5.7 tpi ? i have a fresh rebuild tpi 350 new sensors new distributor,new injectors,same ecm and prom,set tps and timing.never touched idle speed screw. still has factory plug in hole.fuel presure 43-45psi,it idles around 1500-1700 rpms i have tried everything to try and bring it down.when i drive it up the street it seams to run ok for a minute or two then it starts to choke out and dies.starts rite back up and same thing.pops a few times before it dies.iac is also new.check engine lite on all the time.and the fuel pump is running all the time.mass air was good before i rebuilt the engine.any input from anyone thats experianced this issue would be appreciated.thank you

Check for vacuum leaks and air leaks around the plenum and runners. You may have put the gaskets on backwards.
