hey guys i was merging onto the highway yesterday and gave the car some gas and it stubbled a bit but i didnt think much of it and i made sure to watch all my gauges and everything was fine then the check engine light came on and it started surging and stalled when i came to a stop at an intersection it started right back up and the light was gone and didnt come back on for the rest of the afternoon then later on in the day it did it again but way worse i had to foot brake it to keep it running just to park it in my parking stall the rpms were really erratic(when in drive at a complete stop felt like it would stumble and then try and make up for it the rpms just went up and down) any idea what could of happened?it also smells like gas any ideas?

 

o and by the way the car is a 87 350 tpi iroc
