Hi, I have a 1988 5.7 liter iroc z28 camaro. The car has been setting in the garage for a year with out being started. Do to i had back surgery and was unable to start it. My question is should i change the oil first? Before starting the car. Or would it be ok to go ahead and start it. Thank you.

 

Kinda depends on how old the oil was before the car was parked, but at the same time, whats an oil change, cheap assurance knowing your getting good clean oil in an engine that was not started in a while, I would change it.

 

 

Thank you for your input. The oil was changed 3 years ago. And has been setting since. It has had no miles put on it. But to be on the safe side i guess i will change it before i start it. Has 7,500 miles org on the car. I just hope i can still drive it after back surgery.If not guess i will be looking for a luxury car. Thanks again.
