Time to select my camshaft and stall
Well since I've finally nailed down everything else I guess I need to get the last ingredients for hopefully a fun lil z28. The long block consist of a ZZ4 short block with flat top hyper pistons (4 valve relief), forged crank, OEM roller, and PM rods. Sitting on top are vortec heads that have been shaved to 60cc chambers and drilled and tapped for threaded studs and guide plates with comp full roller 1.5 rockers. Thinking a .015 gasket to try and hold the quench in check without decking the block (pistons are .025 in the hole). That would put compression around 10.6. Flowing the air and fuel are a rpm air gap and the choice of a holley double pumper or an edelbrock 1407 750cfm carb. After playing with my video games (dyno sims) I am really looking at this cam http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/c...?csid=188&sb=2
Should have plenty out the hole and wind out by about 5500 - 6000 rpm. Now with that cam should I be looking at a 2000 stall that flashes to maybe 2200? Should I get a different cam all together? That cam and a different stall? Right now I have 3.23 gears with the 700r4. Any help would be great, would love some real world advice to go with the video games.

Ya that's not a bad cam. You can even get a bit more aggressive and be fine with the rest of the setup. Something like this one: http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/c...?csid=189&sb=2
As long as your heads can handle the lift that is.. I seem to recall Vortec heads are limited on the lift until you have some work done to them.
That original cam would probably like a little more than a 2k stall though.

The heads have had the guides cut already and there sporting beehive springs. I was looking at the 282 I just thought I might be giving up too much torque down low for not much gain up top. So I should look for a little looser converter, would you say about 2600? Greater?
