3rd dipstick?

Car: 1987 firebird
Engine: 305 carb
Transmission: 700r4
3rd dipstick?
Ok general info. 1987 firebird 700r4 tans and was told it's a 305 havnt checked the casting numbers yet tho. So on my passenger side I have two operational dipsticks. One for oil and one for tranny. But on my driver side I have what appears to be a third dipstick tube? Or maybe I'm just unfamiliar on what it is. There's no cap on it and a dipstick won't go all way down in it. It's not leaking or spewing anything that I can tell. And I can't quiet tell where it leads. Any thoughts on what's up with it are greatly apreciated.

looks like the air line to the cat......i run a carb so i just cut and capped it...YMMV.....except mine was on the passenger side. see if it runs to the cat

Mine had a tube like that and it ran from driver side to passenger side and mounted to the back of the heads.
