Correct Motor Oil Level
I am about to install an OEM oil tube and matching oil level indicator (dip stick). I will have to bend the DS for clearance.
Will bending change the accuracy of the dip stick as long as the DS seats properly? I think nothing will change please correct me if I am over looking something.
Thanks in advance

Re: Correct Motor Oil Level
Yes and no, it depends on where you bend it. Geometrically, if you bend it within a few inches of the tip, it could alter how far the tip extends into the oil, however if it's the stock length and you are bending it further up on the stick to facilitate removal and installation, it will not alter the reading. Any bend after the stick has extended past the guide tube will change how far it goes into the oil. I would not be overly concearned with it though, change your oil and put in 4.5 quarts (with prefilling the filter) run the engine, and check where it is on the dipstick. That should be your baseline reading, and you can mark the stick (either stamp it or drill it) so you are referencing the proper flid level on all subsequent checks.
