car keeps dying
car keeps dying
Im not sure if im putting this under correct section but
I have a 1991 z28 350 tpi it seems that when it gets warm enough that the fans kick on that the car starts to have problems running(pretty sure this is whats causing it as the car runs fine till the temp starts to come up). When going down the highway its fine doesn't have any issues, but when in town at stop lights/signs the rpms fluctuate up and down till it dies. If you hold in the brake and give it some gas or put it in neutral and give it a little gas its fine. Its when you just let it sit and idle in the driveway or stop signs/lights ect that if you dont it dies.
Anyone have any ideas on whats causing it? Its been to the auto shop and they cant find the ghost thats doing it.
Thanks for any and all help, appreciate it.

Re: car keeps dying
Sounds like an electrical problem. a sensor or relay or something. Take to an auto-electrician. Is the service engine soon light on?
If it is, make a video of it throwing the codes, you tube it then post on here. Someone helped me decode mine earlier today.

Re: car keeps dying
mine does the same thing. I have a very low mile car. I also notice when I return from a drive I get a high pitch whine coming from the rear of car. when I open the gas cap and it depressurizes then it stops whining and will drive fine. I only hear the whine in the garage as it is very light

Re: car keeps dying
I use to have that issue. Take off your supply and return line on the frame. The two rubber lines going to the motor attach to them near the driver side shock tower. After you disconnect them get an air compressor and an air gun and blow out your lines. My return was blocker and wasn't letting the pump get gas returning to it so it could cool down, thus valid locking.
