I'm still completely new to the TPI type motors and i have absolutely no clue what this thing is and i'd like to know what it takes to delete it?

FYI i have not done anything to this car yet, i bought it after it's been sitting in a garage for almost 9 years.
Links and an explanation would be highly appreciated.

Re: Emissions Stuff?

That is your air pump diverterr valve. You should have your memcal reprogramed if you remove it. You will also need a shorter belt when you remove the air pump and will need to plug the air tubes in the exhaust manifolds.

Re: Emissions Stuff?

If you have a visual SMOG inspection than it will not pass without it.
Also =
Diverter/bypass valve controls air flow through the exhaust system during a cold start to help reduce emissions
When removed, vehicle may experience rich exhaust during engine warm up, catalytic converter damage, premature oxygen sensor failure and/or excessive hydrocarbons in the oil causing internal engine damage.

Re: Emissions Stuff?

Washing all that filth off your motor will have more effect than deleting THAT, just from the weight reduction.

The car is getting completely re-done in the winter. Motor/trans/rear are all getting pulled, stripped and painted.... Thanks though
