'92 Firebird help.
Hello,
I felt that this was the best place to post my question/introduction. I'm Zaak, and I just purchased a 1992 Firebird- v6. I was never interested in cars all that much until I got this.. project. For starters, it runs. It has some problems- it makes a loud squeaky noise that gets louder as I go faster. Someone said the tension on the serpentine belt is too tight, another said too loose. Someone said it's the pulley. It also is at risk of overheating, so I carry coolant or water everywhere. ANYWAYS.. I would like to put a 350 v8 engine in there and replace most every part under the hood that needs replacing. I want this thing to be powerful.. but I don't want to break the bank. How much am I looking at here for starters? Where should I start?
Thanks!

Re: '92 Firebird help.
If you're going to throw a 350 in it, you've got several options. Buy a crate motor (most expensive), pull one out of a car in a junkyard, or find a used one on craigslist or ebay. I bought a used L98 block from a guy for $400, but it has a comp cam and roller rockers with stud girdles. However, I also rebuilt it cuz it had over 100k miles on the bottom end. You'll need a new wiring harness and ECM too, if you plan on going with fuel injection.
