91 bird is having trouble starting, and white smoke is coming off engine, help!
I have a 3.1 v6 with 350k miles on it. earlier today, it had trouble turning over, and after a few tries, i noticed white smoke coming out of the the sides of the hood. I panicked, opened the hood, and there was no fire, only white smoke coming from somewhere to the left of the engine block. Im stumped, does anyone know what this is and how to fix it?

If you haven't already do a search on "white smoke". Check your coolant level. Check the condition of your oil. Sounds like you got a coolant leak in the engine compartment somewhere. Some folks say to pressure test your cooling system. I usually will try to visually identify the leak first while the car is running or just turned off after reaching operating temperature. Good luck.
