84' FIREBIRD V6 2.8L please help!!!
Car is shutting off when i put it in reverse.if i do manage to get it on the road it will shut off when i either stopped at a red light or if i put it into park. Also misfiring and no get up with the acceleration. ive changed my fuel filters, air filter, vacuum lines, pcv, sparkplugs , sparkplug wires, rotor button, dis.cap, new catalytic converter and exaust pipe.now im just exausted my damn self.lol would these all be causes of the fuel pump, or is it something else?

Make sure your getting spark to all your plugs. Also double check the firing order and make sure your plug wires are ran right.

When you say "shut off" you mean stall, right?
Make sure the egr valve is not getting vacuum at idle or low engines speeds (it might be stuck open). A bad egr solenoid could cause it to open too soon.
Make sure the ignition timing is set to 10*, follow the instructions on the emissions label. Make sure the timing advances when you rev it.

"The REAL answer is 1 2 3 4 5 6 firing order. And the cylinder numbering is opposite the standard, as the passenger side of engine cylinders are numbered 1 3 5 going towards firewall. And drivers side cylinders are 2 4 6 from front of car to firewall."

I think both the Chilton and the Hayes have a V6 section. It would be with picking them up. Ensure your vacuum is routed correctly. If you haven't don't it, replace the EGR (almost always a problem). Then time the motor and report back.

you don't pay attention well, there is a V6 section to the site, youll get 10X more help there. Not everyone reads outside their intrest.
