Crank but no start after battery replacement
Crank but no start after battery replacement
I had to replace the battery. Due to reconditioning of the battery tray my 91 z28 F engine sat for 1 week. Everything works and it cranks over but no spark. What happened? Do I need to reset something. Ran fine before the battery replacement. Stumped.

Re: Crank but no start after battery replacement
What usually happens to me is when I replace a weak or bad part, another part that was marginal will give out. If you have no spark trace it back to the coil, ICM, or pickup coil and see if they're still running to specs. You can check the coil and pickup coil with a voltmeter. The ICM will have to be pulled and checked at an auto parts store. Good luck.

Re: Crank but no start after battery replacement
There an inline fuse right next to the battery that goes to the fuel pump, many times when people replace the battery they break a wire or connection going to the fuse causing the fuel pump not to kick on
Edit- just saw you don't have spark, disregard this
