Odd wiring on Throttlebody

I am working on getting this ole bird running smooth...and ive come across a number or odd wiring issues from the previous owner. This one has me scratching my head. He has a wire tied in on one injector, running to the other, as ive crudely shown on the image...and idea what he has done, or why? Removing it doesn't seem to change anything that i can tell.

The white and red wires are hooked together to supply power to the injectors.

Re: Odd wiring on Throttlebody

What Tuned is getting at is both injectors are supplied constant power with the key on. That's what he means by common power. The computer will control the grounds. My guess is the PO had no power going to them and he spliced a direct power wire into those two. Or the PO used those as a power source for something else which is pretty outlandish.

upon seeing the new picture, I'd say one injector had no power so he jumpered between the two. Exposed wires over gasoline.. that seems a little unsafe.

Re: Odd wiring on Throttlebody

The power comes from the injector fuse at the fuse box through c100 to the splice at the white and red wire. Looks like there may be a issue at the splice or c100 or someone taped power from the injector power feed.

Re: Odd wiring on Throttlebody

With the wire removed, no change, at least not visable. the engine doesn run any different...so seems to still have fuel flowing properly. Im wondering if removing it would cause any issues, PO wasnt the shorpest tool in the shed, may very odd things done

Re: Odd wiring on Throttlebody

If the circuits are working well by getting the correct power and ground without the jumper wire, then I would look to redo those connections and continue searching for further problems elsewhere.
