am I ok using 50 PSI fuel hose?
My fuel tank is out, undergoing a crack repair. While its out I'm installing new pump, sending unit and fuel hoses.
The idiot at oreillys gave me a 3/8's 50 PSI fuel line after I asked for high pressure fuel injection hose. Me, being a moron for trusting the guy, didn't check it till I got home.
am I ok to use 50 PSI fuel line on the fuel pump feed to the engine?
What is the highest pressure it will see at WOT on a stock 2.8 v6?
and what about if I end up doing a a stock L98 swap? What are the wot fuel PSI on that be?
I know we're only talking about a 1' piece of rubber hose, but if I don't really need it, then why waste my time and money?
thanks in advance!

Get the right hose - that hose submerged in ethanol fuel constantly doesn't last real long in my experience - you'll be replacing it in about 2-4 years... Get the new ethanol "flex fuel" hose.

Here's a parts diagram for your 2.8,doesn't list the pressure but it list the size of the hose.

thanks! I guess a good manual is something I'll also need to invest in, for sure.
but would anybody happen to know a approximate psi my fuel pump feed line is doing at wot?

43-47 is the spec I recall - you'll be fine pressure wise with the 50 PSI fuel hose as they usually have some margin built into the design.

Get gates submersible hose for intank operation! Do not use regular fuel lines regardless of pressure rating

Re: am I ok using 50 PSI fuel hose?
thanks guys! I'll use the hose I have then.
and I will be using the small submersible hose that connects right to the fuel pump on the inside of the tank, that came with the new pump.
