I always use NGK plugs because I've had really good luck with them and they come pre gapped. Accel is really good too though. As for wires, cap, and rotor Accel all the way. And when you need to replace your coil I recommend Accel for that as well. If you're doing a full tune up look at changing your fuel filter as well.

Mallory or MSD for anything ignition is typically good. I run MSD . I second the NGK plugs, they are good plugs.

cap / rotor..Generally anything with brass/copper terminals..Better conductivity.
Wires-Low resistance usually 500ohm/ft or less..Preferably cut to fit, (Equal length based on farthest plug and middle plug= similiar resistances) Brass or copper terminals.
Plugs- Prefer lowest resistance; non precious metal (steel or copper only). Currently I run champion RV19YC...These may not work with most headers, however they fit with mine.
I run these because they can be multipurpose, if you know the trick with them.

Skip the designer brands. Even a fairly well built up engine will still run great with stock style HEI.
You won't go wrong with proven brands such as Standard or Delco on ignition and Wix for filters.

oh, come on now... let everyone else waste their money on basic tuneup stuff while you spend your money on stuff that actually makes the car better.. someone has to keep those aftermarket companies in business...

Re: tune up parts lets hear what you use
There is sanity to this world....I only use designer if it's too hard to find AC or if the wires are cut to length so I can route them my own way.
Re: tune up parts lets hear what you use
Well if you do your homework...You'd find out that Ac Delco and NGK are actually owned by the same company...Spark Plug wise...Their almost identical plug/wire technology.
