1985 Trans Am LG4 Passed Ca Smog
Just had my car inspected and passed the enhanced smog test with flying colors. Nox readings at 15 and 25mph were 10ppm. That's correct; only 10ppm! Let me be clear that my car is completely stock right down to the EFE valve. I had a new catalytic converter installed two years ago when I failed for high Nox. The only niggling little problem I had was the gas cap. It failed to hold pressure and the tech replaced it. I'm not certain that it is the fuel here in SoCal, but the O-ring seal does not last long. I could see that there were cracks all around the seal. When I got back home, I removed the seal, flipped it over, and re-installed it. I also smeared a little petroleum jelly on it to keep it lubricated. Just wanted to share and let folks in California know that it is possible to pass the emissions test with a 30 year old car.

Awesome to hear. Mine is bone stock 89 350 TPI and I passed smog after the basic tune-up stuff and new cats. Flying colors, too.
