WHAT FUEL PUMP TO USE? UGH...

Looking to find out what aftermarket performance fuel pump you big horsepower guys are running? After buying the IROC back in 2010 one of the first upgrades I did was install a Walbro fuel pump. Well last summer 100 miles from home the pump quit working. After allowing the car to cool down a couple times managed to limp it back home. Only drove it a couple times on short trips after that. Well now I'm bugging to get it out again this year but trying to decide what pump to install? Not doing another Walbro! What really sucks is I put the same pump in my 91. Plan on finally getting that thing on the road this year, wondering if I should replace that pump too?

11569 The one summit lists as a direct replacement. A little overkill for my current setup, but planning on a purpose built nitrous motor when I do a rebuild this winter

I went with the Granatelli GM-722-340 pump for my '87 iroc. Rated at 340lph, up 800hp at the flywheel, and it was a direct replacement.

Looked at that one also, but found more than a couple not so positive reviews. Did the first one myself but gonna pay to have this one installed. Don't wanna have to worry about it again.

Re: WHAT FUEL PUMP TO USE? UGH...

i think a fuel pump is on my list of upgrades for this winter so thanks for filling me in on your choices. I plan on doing a good deal of research. right now I am only running a 100-150 wet nitrous shot on the 350, but I do plan on building a purpose built streetable nitrous engine making 500 N/A hp and throwing a 150-200 wet shot on it. my factory replacement pump I redid in 2005 wont be able to handle that for sure

Re: WHAT FUEL PUMP TO USE? UGH...

Walbro 255 high pressure will handle a 500 hp all motor deal plus 150-200 wet shot. Run base at 43 psi and large enough fuel injector if efi. I did that on my 383 plus 150 hit ran 10.6's
