Water pump

I was replacing my water pump and I don't know if I should remove the water in the engine, is water suppose to be there and should I remove it or not ?

Anytime you remove a cooling system component, expect coolant to come out. Just draining the radiator should minimize the flood.

Yes there is coolant in the engine.

No you don't "have to" remove it. It will remove itself when you pull off the pump, if you don't take care of it beforehand. You may however "have to" clean up the mess afterwards though.
