Retrofit roller lifters

I have a 350 block but I'm bored 30 over and is now a 355 I'm using a hydraulic roller camshaft in the block is from 1987 so it came with a flat tappet camshaft so I have to use retrofit hydraulic roller lifters and have read varying reviews on the quality of many of those lifters so I would like to pick your guys's brain about which one is best

Crower HIPPO

However, without knowing anything else about your engine, all these choices given are probably well out of your price range. Just buy a full set from Comp Cams or that set of Howards lifters.

Definitely dont need those for a budget car build. Thats more race stuff with big hyd cams and heavier spring pressure.

Morel/howards street series are about the best you can get for a budget and mild cams imo. Still aint cheap but is what it is. The johnsons stuff is very nice too but alot more money

what year is the block? If it is 1987 or newer you can use the factory setup.

Re: Retrofit roller lifters

Sorry I believe I got the year of the block wrong I think it might have been in 84 I'm not sure because this was my cousin's motor but I know it didn't come with roller lifters or the retaining plate in the front of the block for the cam

Re: Retrofit roller lifters

To support the suggestions above, for an average street build, and using Summit Racing as a parts source, any of these would do the job.
This is taking into consideration the need for a retro-fit type lifter and keeping costs down.
Don't forget you'll also need some way to control cam movement via a thrust button.

I've used Comps entry level lifter in a few builds with no issues. As the engine became more aggressive, I made the switch to a tool steel bodied short travel lifter.
