Testing tach out of the car?
The tach in my "new" 86 Camaro is reading too high. But the car came with two extra gauge clusters, one 110 MPH and one 145 MPH.
Is there a way to test the tach in the cluster without pulling the existing cluster?
I guess a better questions is which wire on the back of the cluster do I connect to the white tach wire from the coil to see if the tach works at all. I'd love to test them before pulling the existing cluster, if one works better I will swap it and eventually get one of the tach repair boards.
Thanks,
Ian
I'm hoping this cluster works!
Back of 140 MPH cluster
Back of 110 MPH cluster
Current cluster
110 MPH cluster, from an 85 car I think?
