Need Some help on a '91 Eclipse
Need Some help on a '91 Eclipse
ok, here is the thing, It is a 91 eclipse with the 1.8 and 5 speed. 3 weeks ago I started the car and it died going out of my drive way. I got it started back up and it was misfiring really bad, kinda like it was out of time, the night before it was running just fine. Now I have replaced the sparkplugs, wires and now the distributer, because the coil and the rest of the ignition components are built into the distributer and is non servicable. Now I ran a test on the old distributer for the coil and it tested bad, I thought great I will replace this next and everything will be fine, right, wrong. I got the new one in, set it up got it on the same exact marks I made from the old one, and tried startin back up, and it is still running the same way, the only other things I could think it was, was either really bad gas or timing belt, well I drained the gas tank and ran it empty, filled it with good gas, nd it is still the same, so the only thing left I can hink of is the timing belt has spun on me. If anyone else has any experience with these cars, can you give me any more advise or tell me if I am overlooking anything.
Thanks
Kellen
Also to add I have replaced the fuel filter as well

Sure
Well considering it is my beater car to keep the wear and tear away from my Camaros, I thought that some of you might have some suggestions. Thank you for your reply anyway
