Almost new rods... Do they need to be honed?

Hey ,I need some opinions! I have a set of connecting rods that have about 50mi on them. Cast Eagle rods 5.7 length. Would they really need to be bored/honed for any out of round issues since they are so new?
I Also ha e a 350 2 bolt block that is in really good shape and I'm considering just using bolts on the mains instead of studs so I don't have to have them honed. Or should I not skimp on this and do it right with studs. I'm looking for 380 ish hp overall.. Brodix 180 heads, ASM tubes, edelbrock ported manifold 24lb inj, shorty headers, 212/218 .520/.525 roller camThanks!

Check them and see. A bore gauge tells all.

Although, you mention AS&M... I'm guessing that's their TPI runners? If so, TPI in and of itself will protect the rods from ever seeing any kind of existential stress.

Whereabouts in Cincinnati are you?

That's kinda what I was thinking.. TPI is pretty easy on the internals overall I think. I live in Clifton. How about you?

Measure. My SCAT standard size rods were within acceptable clearance in my opinion - this is with a stock Vortec crank that had been polished. You should check every rod with a bore gauge.

Re: Almost new rods... Do they need to be honed?

I pass through there occasionally; mostly the northeast parts of the metro out towards Mason Loveland and Milford, and the airport & downtown areas of course. But occasionally I find myself in Clifton, particularly the north part of the UC area.

Measure measure measure measure measure measure. There is NO SUBSTITUTE. Either the parts are the right dimensions, or they're not. Posting on Internet message boards does not BEGIN to approach the value of MEASURE.

Thanks for the input! I will find a bore guage and measure them. I am trying to save every penny I can on this build while making sure I don't skip corners!
