Oil Flow Problem??

My Oil Gauge has always seemed a little screwey....(It used to black out past 60 p.s.i. when I floored the car).... but now it is acting really weird. When I first start driving my oil pressure is fine staying at about 30 p.s.i. but when I brake or drive for a longer distance it starts to slowly decrease until it eventually just rests at zero. If I floor it the gauge goes up a little but dies back to 0 when I lay off the gas. After a while it will not move no matter what. Is it just the gauge.... or maybe my oil sending unit or oil pump.... Is my engine getting any oil pressure?

if you werent getting any pressure at all while driving it you would have burned the whole motor up so you must be getting pressure...mine has been screwy lately to never goes to 0 tho just barely under 30

screw a manual gauge i n the block to make sure you have, or don't have preasure before you go any farther. might be a bad sender ,or factory gauge.

I posted a similar question a few weeks ago. I have a 91 Formula 305 TBI. The answers I got was it is probably the oil pressure sender. Some of the guys either changed the sender or just removed it and cleaned the oil passage where the sender is located and replaced it. I plan to replace my sender when I next change the oil and filter.
