Brass distributor gear

Hi folks. I'm installing a Vortec engine into a 83 Camaro for a friend of mine. It has a roller cam in it and we need to find a brass distributor gear. He bought a new electronic distributor about 6 months ago but threw away the receipt so he doesn't even know what brand it is. Anyway we're trying to find a brass gear for it that is .480 thousands inside diameter. He found a .490 but it's way to sloppy. Anyone here heard of a .480 thousands gear? It's very odd lol.
Thanks, Wally

Re: Brass distributor gear

Either go melonized or go .500 composite and have a sleeve made for the gear like i did.

Re: Brass distributor gear

Just get a gear from Rock Auto for a 88-91 Corvette. Melonized and meant for even a billlet steel roller.
