hot air pipe question...

hot air pipe question...

whats a hot air pipe, is it supposed to be a pipe that runs form my exhaust manifold to my air cleaner?



if so, does all cars have them?????

yes, i think it made the combustion chamber heat up faster which reduces emissions and reduces performance.

If you are talking about the air duct coming up from the exhaust manifold heat stove to the air cleaner, then what i does is when your car is below a certain temp, the thermac closes (the thingie in your snorkle), and it takes hot Air (not exhaust gasses) that has passed by the exhaust manifold (b/c of the heat stove) and uses that to help it warm up faster. I am not the best with discriptions, but it is really obvious if you look at a picture, or just take a close look @ yer engine! Hope that helped.
