Piston Slap or Lifter Tick?
This is only 1k miles old. It's a fully forged internals 355. Sometimes, when cold I get this noise. Does it sound like Piston Slap or Lifter to you?

Yikes that's louder than I thought it'd be. I'd guess lifter/rocker. Piston slap sounds "low" in the block, and from what I've experienced, more of a metal clucking sound. I didn't typo that, I meant cluck.

Re: Piston Slap or Lifter Tick?
Might short a spark plug wire one at a time and see if the noise goes away on one cylinder or so? Or unplug an injector one at a time. If the noise keeps up it could be a lifter. But first check all exhaust manifold bolts and the spark plugs for tightness. Be surprised how that small leak can sound like something completely different.
