Car ventilation system

So I did a rebuild recently and swapped out alot of parts. I'm running the Holley sniper efi, so only a couple vacuum ports. And I did a smog pump delete. The engine is running fine, been using it for like a week, but I'm curious now how to get the vents in the car to blow air. I don't have the AC condenser in, so I know that's not going to work obviously, but I wanna get the heater to blow some hot air in the cabin. Is it just a vacuum line that I need to hook up? Or is it attached to the old smog pump somehow? I tried looking around and got confused on how the heater system works. Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙏

Probably.

No.

Look at the wiring harness that comes through the firewall right near the heater hoses. It will have about 5 wires in it, and a vacuum line. One of those thin hard plastic ones. Of the wires, 3 go to the heater blower motor resistor, one goes to the high-speed blower relay, and one goes to the compressor. Hook up all of them except the compressor one. The vacuum line needs to be hooked up to a source of constant manifold vacuum, with a check valve at the source and a vacuum reservoir between the check valve and the line going into the car. Your car probably already has the canister; you can pick up a check valve at the parts store hanging on a card in the area where fuel filters, vacuum tees, etc. are. You can use regular rubber vacuum hose if you want, or extend the hard plastic if you want to do that (all the parts & pieces you'll need are hanging on cards right there too), either works fine. There might be 2 vac lines in that harness; can't recall for sure in your year/model of car; if so, the other one goes to the heater control valve. The grey one goes to the vac source and the pink or purple-ish one goes to the HCV.

All this of course, is assuming the wiring and plumbing INSIDE the car, hasn't been "improved" somehow.
