I have a 83 305 with a 5 speed manual and every time I shift hard it smokes
It shoots like a puff of smoke out through the shift tower the boot is torn but idk if maybe there's somthing wrong on why it's doing that ik it's really dirty because it's been sitting for about 17 year so maybe it's just dirt burning up or maybe there's somthing else I should look into for it? I can also feel the clutch slipping a bit when downshifting they said the clutch was put in abojt 2 years before they parked it so yeah

If the clutch is slipping then that's probably your answer. Sounds like a small amount of burning from the clutch.

What does the smoke smell like? That should help identify it right away.
