I went to the track Saturday morning and ran the ole LG4. Now let me tell you that before, my best run was a 15.91@85mph. That was all stock with 3:73 posi, and a "G" hanger, "DR" rods. I put on my Elelbrock headers, 3" y-pipe, Hi-Flow cat, and 3" SLP catback. I took it out there yesterday and first run I cranked off a 15.19@89mph! Unreal right? Well, to make a long story short, my best run of the day was a 15.11 at 90mph. So for $200 for the exhaust, I dropped exactly 8 tenths and picked up 5mph. Not too shabby, huh? And the whole motor is stock. That was also at the stock timing setting (forgot my dist. wrench). That goes to show how bad the LG4 exhaust really is. But thats awesome. Im thinking of sliding a cam in and seeing what the wee-05 will do. Anyway, what do you guys and gals think of that?

Very cool!
With some head porting, a cam and a decent intake you should be closing in on the 14 flat mark :hail:

do you really think that would be all it takes to be that close to 14-flat? That would be awesome. I have another set of 1.84" 305 heads that I was toying with the idea of getting a book and learning to port a little. I just have to figure out now what cam to choose without having it end up as overkill. But hey, if thats all it takes to run low-14's, im gonna go for it. Id much rather run low 14's with a wee-05 as opposed to a 350. But anyway, thanks for the input. Later

Considering that the other weak parts of that motor are heads and cam. You already have the gears. You would probably drop close to another 1 second off.
