When to go to MAIN STUDS.
When to go to MAIN STUDS.
I'm building a 4-bolt 350 that will probably never see more then 400/400. Im having the main caps align bored because I think one is from a diffrent block.I would like to know at what point should you switch to something like ARP main studs? I've come to believe that the ARP (studs/bolts)? for the rods are pretty important. All help would be greatly appreciated. Im taking care of this tomorrow. Thanks

The 4 bolt doesn't really need them but they are a good added protection. If you had a 2 bolt then the stud kit is highly recommended. Even better is splayed caps.
If you do plan on using studs, you need to have them installed before getting the block align bored.
I use main studs in my race engine and it's only a 2 bolt block.
