What?? From his mods I take it you're talking about a newer Impala SS, though it would make more sense that he hung with you if it were an older one built up. I mean, I thought they were V6 right now. Something sounds fishy.

He is talking about the 94-96 Implala SS.
They do not make a new (fwd) Impala SS.
Maybe he had more mods then he let on- you have a 400lbs weight advatage+ all the mods....

And a damn good thing, too... putting SS emblems on a friggin' rebadged Toyota would be all sorts of heresy. I hate this stupid "Let's rename a Toyota and trick people into buying them" crap. Ugh.
If it weren't for all the engine work on the GTA, I'd find it perfectly reasonable... maybe he swapped in an LS1 and lied about it?

um...ATH, a new fwd Impala is not a toyota- if that's what you meant. THe Pontiac Vibe, however, is a toyota- underneath.
Just how bad was yuour launch? Unless it was horrible, I doubt it weould have made much difference.

He either was BSing you about mods or you have some serious tuning issues to work out. Those impalas for being big beasts can be a quick car. A guy we all cruise with locally has 3 96 impala SS' all have exhaust work and his dark cherry red one has a supercharger and that thing hauls *** for a big boat. I've seen him hand many modded stangs and camaro's their asses with that car. But if those were his only mods i don't see him keeping up with you like he did.

Those 94-96 Imp SS are pretty fast when modded correctly, and their counterpart Caprices are not to shabby either. I would love to own a 94-96 Imp SS or even a LT1 Caprice!(FOR THAT FAMILY CAR PEFORMANCE )
