1991 Z28 G92 L98 vs 1986 Corvette L98
As some of you heard, i creamed my bros 92 305 5speed in my dads Vette. Now me and my dad were getting into arguements about who would win (dads 86L98 vette or my 91 Z28 L98) He said my Z would win cuz maybe the gears (vette came with 2.59 gears) But i think the Vette would win its lighter. Anyways what ya guys think would win? Here are stats
1986 Chevy Corvette
2.59 gears
55,000org miles
4 speed AUTO
MODS:
Airfoil
Flowmasters
Strait pipe Convert
K&N
Hypertech Chip
1991 Chevy Z28 L98 B2L G92
3.23 gears
14,100 org miles
4 speed auto
MODS:
Airfoil
Magnaflow Tips/ and muffler
thats it lol not much on either car...
Pretty much stock vs stock (almost)
camaro weighs i think 3500
Corvette is 3200-3300 i assume. Also the Vette hasnt been really running good l8tly some leaks, The camaro runs Perfect. Just wonderin what ya guys think about this one
Back in 1992 the org owner ran my car and ran a 14.3 @ 96 or 97 cant rem
Thanks The vette what ive been hearin can run high 13s but not 100 percent sure, could run low 14 or maybe mid

Car: 1991 Camaro Z28

Axle/Gears: Girdled 10 bolt/3.23's
I've raced a guy with an '86 Vette on the street, several times. I can always pull him by a couple cars off the line and then it evens out. I raced him once on the highway from a 55 roll up to 130 and we stayed side by side. Vette's have better aerodynamics and gearing for top end. Stoplight to stoplight, you should win. Highway depends on how fast you want to go but eventually he should walk away.

I would say dead even or his vette just by a half car, depending on how far. In quarter, say about even. Your 3.23's should make up for your weight difference, since 2.59's kinda suck, especially in an auto. Don't know but I think that the 86 vette motor wasnt as powerful as later ones, so you may have same if not more power. Too close to call.

Too close to call. The "better" driver will win. Hope this puts an end to this dull topic.
