04 Mach1 vs my T/A
Hes got some stuff done, Steeda cold air, ported 75mm TB, Spacer, underdrives, Bassani X-pipe, Borla catback, not cats, 5 Speed..
Im sitting higher on the mods list but hes got technology,
I got a 2-bolt block bored .030
Wiesco forged aluminum 11:1 pistons
Powdered metal rods
E-tec 200's
Voodoo cam .504/.545
Airgap manifold
Holley 700DP
Edelbrock performer fuel pump
Hooker 2460's with Y-pipe
3inch from the Ypipe back with a dynomax bullet before the diff
5-Speed w/ Spec 3 clutch
3.73 posi rear
BMR subframes
No A/C components, rear seats, aluminum water pump and radiator should have a glass hood by the time we race. Im thinking I might need some juice to pull on him, to be honest I expect to lose but I got high hopes, and considering even with the money I dropped on parts he still spent more on the car haha.. Its gonna be from a slow roll, like 10/15mph Oh! I got Weld Prostars too, 15x10's in the rear possibly gonna put E/T streets on or some kind of street slick.. Thanks

Re: 04 Mach1 vs my T/A
so he's probably a low 13 hight 12's car with a great driver at around 107-110 i would guess. i sure hope your 350 can can trap that with the cam and heads you have. i trap 99mph out here in tucson with crap air and 5000+Da. with a way smaller cam and vortec heads. i would say if your car is running at its best you should win.

Re: 04 Mach1 vs my T/A
Mach 1's are the fastest N/A Mustangs they made. Mid to low 13s bone stock seem to be common, and with just a catback I have seen high high 12s. I actually talked with a guy whose 16 year old daughter drove it to a 13.1 bone stock. Not sure what your car will run, but "assume" he's a good driver (as you should always do when preparing for a race) and he could run into the 12s.

Re: 04 Mach1 vs my T/A
The Mach I is rated at 305 hp. It has the same engine as the '03-'04 Cobra sans the blower and a higher compression ratio, 10-to-1. It has the 4-valve per cylinder heads like the Cobra. Imagine my former '03's motor without the blower. It's an awesome motor to mod....

Re: 04 Mach1 vs my T/A
Agreed. Your combo sound stout so it should be a good race. This past summer a stock Mach 1 was running back to back to back 13.4's on a bad track with no cool downs in 93° heat. That is fast given the conditions. He was running faster than my '03 Cobra on 2/3 of his runs and my car made 391rwhp.

Re: 04 Mach1 vs my T/A
I will when I get back from Iraq haha.. The guy that owns the Mach is one of my SGT's and I always tell him Mustangs suck to **** him off.. He said he doesnt know how to launch real well on the street and Im not to found of that kind of racing anyways but if we happen to meet up at a light its on, otherwise we got an 1/8 mile strip about 10 minutes away..

Re: 04 Mach1 vs my T/A
I think the Mach1 would take it. My dad has an 03 Mach 1 and that thing is fast. Ive been in the car with himhe raced an LS1 camaro he said he had a bunch of bolt ons and stuff. My dad got him off the line and kept about 2 car lengths on him for a while. The Mach is stock besides a magnaflow exhaust.
It may be close you have a lot of mods but I think the Mach will take it

Re: 04 Mach1 vs my T/A
my friend has a MACH 1 and the car is pretty fast and many underestimate his capability,4-valve!!!!!!
this MACH 1 runs hard with exhaust mods, nitto Drs,4.10s 13.3 broke the gears so it has the 3.55s and cats back in it and it runs 13.8s now.
guys don't forget this car was made to be a factory racecar the HP was underrated and the car is light
my Lt1 m6 car had true duals on radials and he would kill me out the hole.
i now have longtubes and i can walk him pretty good...On the freeway roughly 125 i pull him really good to 165 plus

Car: 87 IROC
Engine: 406 sbc with Trick Flow heads, Hook
Transmission: Pro built 700R4
Axle/Gears: waiting on a new rear!!!!
Re: 04 Mach1 vs my T/A
I use to have that same cam the only difference in my combo and yours was I had trick flow heads, 650 quick fuel carb and 1.6 rockers. I raced and beat a mustang running 8.3 in 1/8 mile. But that was when I put the engine in a 70 nova with ford 9 inch single traction with 3.5 gears I was pedaling after sec on him. I think it will be a good race.
