87 Turbo Turdgen vs 07 Porshe 911

Prepping for an armdrop event on saturday.I took the turbo turdgen out to put some miles on the rebuilt trans and do some data logging for a retune in the morning on meth.Along comes this clean 2007 black porshe darting around. I decide to flick on the cam and play with him.Needless to say it was an easy kill..didnt want to bust his ***** too badly and barely ran the car hard and short shifted.

Could interest you in a trade for a low mileage L03?

Me and my 15 year old has watched all your you tube videos, that thing is a beast!!! I got to replace his 5.3 in his Z71 and if I can't find an affordable lq4 by then I'm gonna rebuild his core for my GTA. You have inspired me to go turbo. Keep baiting those bought not built jobs and posting these awesome clips for us to laugh at. Oh and I think I am sold at the idea of On3. I'm sure once I get started I will have some questions. Welding and fabrication don't bother me as I'm set up with all the equipment and done it for 16 years. Turbo is just a whole new world to me that I am not familiar with. I work on cars for a living these days but never anything turbo comes through our doors.

Dont sweat it..Once you have your hands on the turbo parts..it will all make sense.I felt the same way untill the parts were bolted on and working. Thanks for the support,Im slowly going to put more effort into video content.Adding a new gopro to my line up..in and outside views..and more late night car hunting I love pulling upto bought not built cars and blow the doors off them!

Re: 87 Turbo Turdgen vs 07 Porshe 911

I'm slowly starting a pile of parts. I am so tired of the lil ole 305 Tpi. My car looks inviting to these kids in these 350zs and newer BMWs and I can do nothing but be that ole guy in a slow old car. I can't take much more of it lol. I refuse to go with another small block, granted they are one of the best proven platforms ever and I got mad respect for them, I just think the LS platform has the edge on tunability and reliability IMO. What is your opinion on a stock 5.3 with a turbo? Also my 5.3 I have will have to be freshened up but it has the castech heads which I hear are proven to cracks leading to loss of coolant. I am definitely banging on a budget so any input on the heads that will save me $$$$and headaches down the road would be greatly appreciated. I don't know if the 6.0 is in my budget anytime soon especially since I've already got the spare 5.3 in my shop.

Thanks, and I agree.lots of info to be had on ls1tech.Best advice for a budget turbo..keep it simple.freshen up the motor if you need to,use whatever heads you find cheap in good shape.Get good set of valve springs and a ls6/ls2/ls9 cam..or stay stock.A 78/75 turbo and run low boost..under 10psi and you will live a happy long life and make great useable fun power reliably.dont go chasing dyno numbers like everyone else does with turbo setups..thats when things go wrong fast and you get judged for not making 1000whp lol
