So how much do your snow tires suck? (0-60 trial)
Well, I had never done an official 0-60 test on my car until today... of course I have cheapo brand low profile truck tires (well they claim to be snow tires) on my 'bird and I thought that it shouldn't hurt too much.
I drive through a nice approximate 1/4 mile straightaway everyday to school and it is perfect for these expiriments. I did a run on my way to school and got a 9.46 0-60. I figured hey I could probably get under 9 sec on these tires since I shifted a little soon at 4500 and I had a slight hesitation with the stop watch in my shifting hand... so I figured I'll try a more agressive run on the way home.
So, 3 hours later I'm facing the opposite direction and I come to a dead stop. Drop into first and romp on the gas, the pedal is on the floor and I spin the tires all the way through first and into second, and I stop the watch and what do you know! 10.22 sec LOL WTF?
I just had to laugh at my crappy tires at this point. Hopefully my summer tires (soon to be Kumho Ecsta's) will give me some real traction.
I just wanted to share my humorous story and maybe we can have a few more laughs.

My cars weak enough that my snow tires aren't even hurting my launch at all
But, this is my first Illinois winter with a rear drive car, so I spent the $$ on a set of bridgestone Blizzaks and all I can say is they rule. With those and 120#s of sand in the back (only on the bad days) I've had absolutely no trouble in the snow at all. Who said our cars suck in the snow? I just wish I didn't have to subject the poor car to winter driving. The only place I had a hard time was getting up my f'kn steep a's driveway one night. Winters over though i think its safe to say, so the BFGs will be on the back soon to match the front.
I guess this isn't what you were lookin for though....

Well seeing that the only terrible weather we get here in So. Cal is rain, they don't even sell snow tires at most of the local tire shops. It is all about wearing performance tires year round A couple days of bad traction in the rain more than makes up for having months on end with sun
