Fun time, even though we had to cut it short due to weather.

Had a great turnout and lots of fun. I just wish we didn't have to cut it short. I know a bunch of folks bailed out last minute.

Re: ThirdGen Expo 2019!
This car is owned by one of our TGO members here. 1MeanZ and I spent some time checking it out and talking to the owner. Truly a diamond in the rough.
This here is a 1989, G92, 5 speed, N10 dual cat, KC4 oil cooler, PBR rear brakes, 9 bolt 3.45 gears. He got it from Florida. Undercarriage is clean as a whistle, interior is near mint, and car has 50K miles on it. Previous owner did some weird stuff with '91-'92 parts and crunched the left quarter. But owner is planning on a resto.

Man I wish I were closer to this. Ive drooled all over my shirt looking at those pics. I can remember that many Thirdgens being at the dragstrip every Sunday when we had 'street drags" back in the 90s.

Wish I could have made it but between all the other things going on and the silly car I need to have done, it just wasn't in the cards this year.

Re: ThirdGen Expo 2019!
Man, if it wasn’t a 14.5 hour drive.. I’d love to go...
I actually turned down a Camaro/Firebird show the other night because it was 1.5 hours away and I would have had to take work off.. People that went said I definitely would have got a trophy if I went.. (darn it!)
I need one of those trailers Arnold has and 3 5-Hour Energy drinks to make it out there... Wish we had a Northeast version..

Even though this year's event was abbreviated by an incoming storm, it was a blast. It wouldn't have been a blast if Jeremy and I were locked up in a room for two hours counting votes.
A couple guys messaged me and were disappointed about the no awards part of it, but hey, we had 55 cars there, after I announced no awards and everyone knew a storm was coming, so I don't think it's an event killer. If the weather would have been perfect, we might have had double the cars. It's just really cool just to get that many 3rd gens and owners together and chat with everyone, check out the cars and hear the stories.
My only regret is that I wish I would have had another couple hours to talk and check out cars.

Re: ThirdGen Expo 2019!
We didn't have any judging or trophies this year. I'm kind of burned out on that to tell you the truth. It's tough when you have two guys running the show. Buy the trophies, have judging, either by judges or participants, tabulate the votes, give out the trophies. Honestly, it's a pain in the *** and it sucks all the fun out of the event for me because that's all you're doing. Then you have people who are mad they didn't get a trophy. No thanks.

A show like that I wouldn’t care about awards.. Mostly I’d want to see the cars.. And then after seeing the cars I’d miss my car and want it there.. I would want to see perfect weather to make a trek like that..

Re: ThirdGen Expo 2019!
Do You charge for the participants cars? I am asking because I do feel like you with the whole trophy and judging thing, Our car club hires a guy that judges cars at car shows. We pay him and he does the rest. He is impartial 3rd party so know one gets pissed at you. I know it is a lot of work putting on one of these and I feel with you on wanting to enjoy the event when that time comes. Just a suggestion Chaz.
